Here is an explanation of Room Manager Agents, they can be set up in the contact details of the console as an agent:
Credit Agent is an agent that the property is giving credit to; ie the guest stays and then the operator invoices the agent for the net amount. Jetstar is a very good example of this. When a credit agent is applied to a booking, then the commission is added and the commission voucher (for the money to be paid to the property from the credit agent) will be added to the payment section of the booking.
Commission Agent is where a booking is made and the guest pays the property the Gross amount. The agent then invoices the operator for their commission. Booking.com is a good example of this. When a commission agent is applied to a booking, then just the commission is added to the commission debtors report so that the payment can be balanced once invoiced.
Net Agent is where a booking is made and the agent then takes their commission at the time of booking. The guest pays the property the Net amount, usually by the property charging the credit card that has the property has received. Agoda is a good example of this. When a Net agent is applied to a booking, then just the commission is added to the payment section of the booking.
Bookeasy Booking Centres (Most VIC’s):
“The agent then invoices the operator for their commission.” This does not reflect what happens with a Bookeasy VIC - guests don’t pay the property, they pay the Bookeasy VIC directly. The Bookeasy VIC then takes their commission once a return is run, usually at the end of the month, and will send the Net amount to the property (so the Bookeasy VIC would be a Credit agent).
Please note that NO agents for Room Manager Consoles take credit card details.
